The Strong Soul of Paper

p1090526 - modificata.jpeg

Many wonder if paper can truly become jewelry. The answer lies in my method: every Korigami is born from high-grammage Washi rice paper, hand-painted and protected by a special invisible membrane.

This protection is not a lamination (which would stifle its nature), but a thin shield that respects the paper’s texture and colors, making Korigami surprisingly strong:

Impact resistance: Unlike crystal, which can shatter if dropped, protected paper is elastic. If your Korigami falls, it bounces silently without breaking.

Defense against time: The membrane protects against scratches and daily wear, keeping the colors I painted for you alive.

Humidity, not immersion: The shield protects the jewelry from humidity and accidental splashes. However, it is not meant for prolonged contact with water…

I choose high-grammage Washi paper because it possesses a memory: it preserves every fold, every breath. Through Origami, I transform the two-dimensionality of the sheet into a wearable sculpture. But it is through Kintsugi that it evolves into a true piece of jewelry.

I treat every creation with specific protective resins that make it resistant to humidity and the passage of time. I do so with extreme care: never stripping the paper of its true nature. A Korigami must remain light, alive, and vibrant to the touch—just as it was at the very moment it was born.

To the touch, they are light and silky; at first glance, they appear to be precious brocade. But it is paper. A paper enriched by my craftsmanship, by gold, and by an invisible membrane that envelops it, condensing all materials into a single, indissoluble creature. It is a subtle balance: the protection is there, yet unseen, allowing the soul of the material to remain alive and vibrant.

Wear them without fear. They were born to live in the world, not to be kept behind glass.
